Scrapps: Troglodyte also has modern meaning when applied to technical activities:

From Free On Line Dictionary of Computing

1. A hacker who never leaves his cubicle.

2. A curmudgeon attached to an obsolescent computing environment.

Also, found in Wired magazine Jargon Watch:

A round-the-clock hacking session in which your eyes get so tired you have to turn off the lights and toggle the monitor into reverse - white letters on a black screen. Programmers in Troglodyte mode often prop themselves up with stimulants, loud music, and outbursts of colorful language.
