The (R)'s adopted the racists fleeing from the (D)'s in the Kennedy/Johnson era, and have unashamedly provided a home and supporting policies for them ever since. The entire south, once called the "Solid South" by the (D)'s who pandered to the racists there, now belongs to the (R)'s, who pander to the racists there. Just look at current party identification among minorities. They KNOW which is the party that hates them, and which is the party that champions them. I love how the Rs pretend its not true.
