I agree that it makes more sense in a taxable account where you could take the CREDIT. With dividend rates ratcheting up next year...more sense since the CREDIT will hold more weight.
I am doing the ADR's in my IRA because I think they are vastly undervalued, the dividends are competitive with returns I can get in US stocks, they allow me to diversify geographically, and there is still so much uncertainty about the reinstatement of tax policy. I currently hold FTE,TOT,RDSB,NGG.
