Well.. we seem to be making the same mistakes they did in how that stimulus money is spent on "make work" projects (parks.. bridges to nowhere.. ;0) instead of investing it in productivity enhancing technology and worker retraining.

Of course, that's not true. Companies that produce electric batteries, solar panels, devices used in windmill construction, electric cars etc have been awarded monies under the stimulus program.
