Taro, arrogant liberals think that "science" consists of reading articles from NPR and accepting them at face value.

If not for people who take on important causes and study the effects of mankind of the world, folks you label so wantonly and cynically, the world would be a far darker place in which to live...so thank these people now and then for the air you breathe and the water you drink...and yes, I tend towards a listening ear...unlike you and the band of cynical envirophobes with which you seem to identify.

There are little things called "chemistry" and "physics" which wingnuts seem to be unaware of.

Oxygen in the atmosphere has a residence time of about 4500 years, it isn't zero like you are pretending. In addition, you seem to be neglecting the fact that phytoplankton lives in the water, so it takes some time for it to enter the atmosphere, or not enter depending on what you are trying to measure. Still, if plankton production is off by 40% over the past few decades, shouldn't we have been able to measure some change?

The answer appears to be yes.

Granted, the article fingers combustion as the primary reason. But, even then, the decrease is greater than expected.

But, continue butt-slapping each other on your "victory"...
