The guest worker program is OK for *some* illegals, mainly (solely) in agriculture, IMO. This is a short term work visa, usually 6 months. Need to keep close tabs on the workers though and make sure they exit the country before expiration. Otherwise hold the employers feet to the fire.

The rest can be filled by legal residents, Mexicans, other US blue collar workers. The preference among Arizonans in seal the border first and foremost, then worry about the other aspects. We started 2 dubious wars to "defend" the US, they owe us border security, dammit! And I don't care which administration did or didn't do what, both parties have waffled long enough with the common denominator of screwing the border states (and specifically the middle and lower-middle class within the border states) to further their political agendas. Like with practically everything else over the past 20 years.....
