$30 a piece is not a big deal for Intel. I guess that Intel might issue the recall with the option to replace with PII.

The real issue is if Intel has enough engineers to debug the newly discovered bug. Keep in mind that Intel is still shipping the PII and PPro with DAN411 bug 7 months after it was publically reported.

You have to be stupid enough to buy the buggy PII.
