Or he could have said, "I will not be attending." You don't have the misfortune of seeing his juvenile whining on TV EVERYDAY blaming everyone in the world for what is wrong and attempting to take credit for things when none is due. It is embarrassing. You should have seen him proclaiming how he saved the American auto industry today. It was disgusting as is most of his behavior and the desperate need for attention/adulation has gotten to be too much. That is why is approval rating is about to fall through 40% and will eventually reach levels never seen before by a President...

Obama's response was just another illustration of his self absorption and tin ear. Period. There are always more important things to worry about than social events, but, unfortunately, Obama's personality flaws and basic incompetence manifest in serious matters as well.
