Jack, and Sonray, if you're watching, please be patient.
Believe it or not, or maybe it's still pretty obvious to the tuned
eye and ear, that I once was one of the very most serious and
dedicated of the group which ends up with "Parmahasa" Yogananda (that's what I called him all those years and was
never corrected for some strange reason). We referred to ourselves
and other such feathered birds as "god trippers."

At that time, believe me, it is true, I felt that all Christians were
sweet but stupid to fall for such a down trip, and that indeed I
was 1000 miles down the road in front of them.

The above, Jack, is almost verbatim what I said to the group who
ended up leading me in prayer. My words were, "I love Jesus,
he's definitely one of the avatars, but "he just can't get you high."
I said that because at that moment I truly believed it. THEN.
If that was not bad enough, which it definitely was, AFTER I
obediently repeated the prayers to just show "god" how much I
was willing to do, I looked up sweetly and said, "I hope no one is getting too excited about this because all I'm going to do is take
the high I get here and move on down the road "with god". (as
in farther into the quagmire.)

This is a true story. Hard to believe, but true. By the next
afternoon I was as gone on Jesus as you get gone. So, have
patience. I have seen things more bizarre than even myself,
which really was pretty bizarre.

All we are told to do is lift Him up, and HE will do the drawing unto
Himself. They got me to pray, that was their work. The Holy
Spirit did the rest.
