Cubans are primarily of Spanish and African ancestry, Mexicans are of Spanish and Native American ancestry.

The Mexicans and Guats we get in Florida seem to be mostly or all Mayan, which accounts for their small stature. Some of them don't speak Spanish at all, and some speak it as a second language.

This is why you have many Cuban and Dominican players in MLB, but very few Mexicans, you have to be pretty good size to play pro ball these days.
