This is the weekly update for the Group and SOX tables in terms of earnings estimates and price changes. For these tables there have been big changes as well this past week.

Note that both the Group and SOX earnings estimates made huge jumps this week. Some of this is to be expected as a result of the earnings reporting season, but these jumps are equal or greater than other reporting periods in the table.

The Group earnings estimates this past week have gone from 23.29 and 32.60 to 29.46(+26.5%) and 35.82(+9.9%). The price went from 324.11 to 318.19(-1.8%).

The SOX earnings estimates this past week have gone from 39.39 and 45.59 to 44.76(+13.6%) and 47.75(+4.7%). The price went from 364.53 to 348.81(-4.3%).

Looking at the right hand column of each table since the week of 4/23, 14 weeks ago, the indices have gone into the tank while the earnings estimates have increased greatly. This of course has caused the tremendous compression in the PE and PEG numbers over this period.

At the bottom of the main table is another very small add on table that looks at 3 points in the table. These points are 1/8/10, 4/23/10, and 7/30/10. Earnings estimates from the main table are taken along with the prices in order to give a small snapshot of PE and PEG compression over this period of time.

I am going to terminate posting this table on a weekly basis. The entire table is becoming a little unwieldy, and the action for both stocks will be much different going forward.

Donald, I remember that I was the one who had requested this to test the hypothesis that "a low PEG indicates, significantly lower stock prices ahead and/or significant downward revisions to earnings estimates." I thank you for doing this as long as you did.
