Nowhere in those papers is indicated that any considerable amount of CO2 triggered the event.

Unless by now you re wrote that entry, that is :)

It remains an established fact recognized by all those 'windmills', that CO2 traced all the better known global warming events by approx. 800 years.
Released from the ocean by the heat spike 800 years earlier caused by whatever, volcanic activity, exrtra ordinary cosmic rays activities or whatever we may only speculate about in most cases.

You just feel free to come up with your own alternate theories - and as a matter of fact, give Al Guru a call, he owes you for your support, some of his Nobel Prize cash IMO.
