"But, is that the economic system we WANT?" I would say yes, but with a qualification. I am an advocate for free market Capitalism (a form favoring small businesses), which is both efficient, and very capable of rationally allotting resources where needed. We don't have free markets, and we move further away from that all of the time, which is what brings us to our present condition. Funny that while China is still a Communist state, they are embracing free markets as we move in the opposite direction. They are starting to grow rich, while we are growing what?
