Maybe he did know they never would, but he always recommended it when asked. Just like tax cuts. The guy was a disaster in the later years. Like MD said, he had control on monetary policy. He lowered rates too far and too long. Blew Real Estate out of the water.

They (Administration. Berspanky, Wall Street, NAR etc.) are scared to death of the snap back to 1999 pricing. Heck, they can't even reinstate the Estate tax which is ZERO for 2010 from 45% in 2009. What a bunch.
