Sorry, but the military is not "on the periphery" of the budget. It's the biggest and most wasteful "big government program" out there to slash. It's not an investment, it's just pure COST. warresisters.org The really sad thing is, it just takes a very few fearmongers to make it UNTOUCHABLE. It's got the biggest lobby in Washington. It has bases and defense plants in EVERY STATE. NO POL dare take it on. It's a MAJOR UNDERTAKING just to lose one idiotic Cold War program. One item Ron Paul and I totally agree on.
