That's a very different point...although disingenuous none the less...you have advocated lowering taxes when the budget was nearly balanced just as you have when we are in deficit....

I will advocate lowering taxes from now on. I never, ever have supported higher taxes for any purpose, primarily because taxes are already too high on the middle class. There is nothing disingenuous about it; I do not favor turning over my hard-earned money to democrats for them to BLOW on such wastes of money as fiscal stimulus and 2.5 years of unemployment benefits.

The "tax cuts save money" is little more than a smoke screen narrative to give cover to what amounts to cheap pandering politics

The problem with your statement is that it has been proven, time and again, that tax cuts stimulate growth which in turn increases tax revenue. JFK, Reagan, Clinton, and GW Bush all proved it. And in no instance has it failed to increase tax revenue provided the tax cuts were appropriately targeted.

Tax cuts are the only true economic stimulus.

But is it governing? Of course not...when people struggle through life and you give them a tax cut as a solution?

that's not pandering, not governing...

But you are quick to use MY tax money to give unemployed people money for not working. It is okay to take my money and give it to someone else who is struggling but not okay to let me keep my money if *I* am struggling. You see how f*cked up you are on this?

You're a f*cking hypocrite no matter what you think of yourself.

So, when people struggle through life you should give them a tax increase? That's pandering? That's governing?

Al, > I mean, who doesn't like tax cuts, right? But is it governing? Of course not...

We all know what the liberal definition of "governing" is ... throw more money at the problem, then figure out who's going to pay for it.

You might want to defend that before applying an ill-defined standard of "governing" to those you'd rather silence ...
