Sowell gets the last laugh. He gets paid to write this drivel. So you think that our national debt isn't a meaningful topic in the upcoming elections? Boy would I like to take that bet with you. The debt is at a higher proportional number than any time other than WWII and more troubling unlike WWII there is little prospect it will improve any time soon. Those politicians - everything else being equal which it never is - that see the light on the publics growing worries about our debt, I'm betting will do surprisingly well. Those who think articles on our debt are just drivel have a rude awakening coming on election morning in my opinion.
