She was with her boyfriend "James Something", I say that because I cant remember his name. Anyway, everything was going fine until this over-zealous employee of ours decides he wants to run her food out. Little did the idiot know was that he was taking the wrong food to her. He delivered the food with a little school girl attitude and left. I went to see how everything was going and she was such a bitch. She atarted yelling at me because she was eating the wrong food. I wantd to say "why the fuck are you eating it anyway." After all was said and done and a comped meal she left me five bucks on about $150 in product for free. I wanted to kick the other server's ass. And hers too. ........... When I was a bartender years ago I found this to be very true. I have actually served drinks to Penn and Teller, Will Wheaton, Grampa Munster, Tod Rungren, Gayle Sayers, John Riggins, Hank Stram, Len Dawson and tons of others I can't think of. The worst tippers were liberal local celebrities like the weather guy or a local division II college coach. Football palyers seem to like batenders. They usually establish a relationship early and often would arrange to pay for lots of people's drinks up front. Penn Gillette is the nicest and LOUDEST man I ever poured a drink for. ................ Julia [Roberts] was in town to research a film role. She was treated to lunch at the local diner. When the bill came, it was paid for by her fellow dining companions. Julia said that she would give the tip. The bill was $75. Ms. Roberts left a whopping $2 tip... ........ True story: I went to lunch with a professor who, much to my later surprise, left only a $1.00 tip! As we were getting into the car, the waitress appeared in the parking lot, waving the dollar and yelling, "This is not enough!" I have never been so embarrassed. He, on the other hand, literally didn't understand what the problem was. I knew he was a cheapskate but sheesh... But here's the real rub: This professor is a Marxist liberal who has written 3 books on Marxist critical theory! No joke. ........ Let me premiss this with some backgroud. I'm almost 55 & a VietNam vet, also an 'empty nester" {our kids are grown & gone}. I've "moonlighted" as a Pizza driver since just before "Desert Storm". I do it just Winters {in Nebraska}. These are my conclusions People who work, or worked, for tips tip fairly. Nurses tip better than Doctors. Politicians tip poorly. Democrats are the Worst. Libertarians are the BEST of the bunch. Gays tip better than straights. Baby Sitters will try to steal the tip left by the parents {leave a check, not cash, for the pizza}. Renters are less likely to shovel snow than home owners. Non-shovels don't tip. Parents of teens that won't shovel shouldn't leave their kids the CASH tip for the pizza guy; like "sitters"... that tip will be intercepted/swipped. Foster Homes, that are re-paid for delivry meals & tips, always need a reciept. They are "pissed as...." when I write "no tip given' on that reciept. If this is YOUR scam, tip something {I won't write on your reciept} then list a larger/bogus tip. Hispanic imigrants tip better than HUD or section 8 residents. And The hispanic kids never try to swip the Tip. Imigrant Africans and African college kids tip far better than American Blacks of the same age and income, or on the same campus.
