>>Aside from the "Asian mess" anyone have any thoughts on what the impact of Saddam's obstinance will have on the oil sector and subsectors short and longer terms?<<

saddam's plan is to export more oil, which is tough when your tubes are tied. So the next best thing is to create a lot of hot air which no one except his round table pays attention too. After that he gets bold and huffs and puffs and starts blowing but without any substance. Everyones afraid a new war will start over the week end, War with what though? bows and arrows? Yes he still has some missiles and tanks but nothing like a few years ago. Iran used to be a solid military power, everyone was afraid of them and they had respect, now they are a third rate asian country. Iraq is a fourth rate asian country now. They dont even get respect from their neighbours. So like any bully, the bigger the huff and puff the more notice they get in the short term and some get nervous seeing whats all the huff and puffs about. After a few days they start ignoring cause its just more huff and puff.. Like castro and libya. If its one thing that hitler has taught the world, its the more huff and puff and blame it on everyone else the better you actually feel till the sky falls on your head. Now if it was jordan or syria huffing and puffing there is more content and I would be looking to exit the building before the stampeede..
