Sid, there is no apparent reason for JMAR's decline in price, except for CATS. JMAR had given stock to owners of CATS in return for their shares of CATS. Recently a deal was struck, and it is probable that those people finally got their shares, and have sold out their position in the last 2 weeks. (This would account for the heavier volume). CATS is probably the sole reason for JMAR being down, as it drained off 1 to 2 cents of earnings this quarter and previous quarters. Without the CATS drain, (which the company plans to end), the company's earnings would be substantially higher.

1998 should not have this impediment, and 1998 should be the breakout year with the introduction of the emerging products. (Although we still could see introductions before the end of this year.) At 3 5/8, it is hard to find any other technology stocks that have so much potential, a true bargain in an overvalued market. Red Chip review estimated .23 in earnings for 1998 according to the article in individual investor. This probably does not take into account micro-machining, and other new products based on the bright light technology. Here are some other highlights for 1998.

1. Introduction of the Light Knife - new uses include dental, ophthalmic, and industrial uses.

2. Introduction of Micro-Machining - Big new market, includes Britelight and Microlight systems

3. New products from PPL - continued growth

4. X-ray lithography beta units - start of sales of beta units

5. Continued profits from selling Mirage to makers of disk drives
in the fast growing MR head market.

6. Possiblity of a joint partner w/CATS where the partner would
assume the financial risk.

So, keeping this in mind, we should all not keep our heads in the kitty litter, and look ahead to where JMAR has put its priorities.

I hinted to it in my previous post. Technology issues, except Intel, were indiscriminately hammered yesterday.
