I disagree that most of what we know about the Celts is conjecture, and would suggest that you actually read (choose any book, or the urls I posted earlier more about their culture.

Tsk, tsk, aren't we arrogant today. I have studied the subject in the past, and it's why I know why you won't be able to answer the basic question that must be answered: where are the ancient Celtic writings that tell us about their religion and culture? There aren't any. There's only the Greek writings that you disparage. So, if you think you know of sources other than the Greeks, post the names of the works. The Celts are a favorite with modern neo-pagans, because no one really knows what they thought, and make-believe is so much fun. The fantasies of some suburban wiccan-wannabe calling itself "Starhawk" don't interest me. But history does. So. Where are the ancient writings?
