Well, I live in the gambling and prostitution capital of Arkansas, the Home Town of President Bill Clinton. Churches aren't quite as predominant here as in most of the South. When you get out in the county, they're everywhere.

But even though I am not a religious person, I respect those who are, and I do believe religion plays a very important and positive role in our society. Most religion I've encountered in my life is not extreme and does not involve Bible-beating fanatics -- rather, simply people who are living the lives in the ways they believe are good and decent.

I'm not sure why the Left is so intolerant, but you are. Another board I post on sometimes is comprised almost entirely of young leftwing nutjobs, and they are totally hate-filled where religion is concerned.

Oh, except if it is Islam. Then, religious extremism is just fine.

Al, that's nothing.

Pastor Rick Warren's church, Saddleback, is the size of a small college campus.

Trinity Broadcasting Network is also based in Orange County.

Personally I found the TBN headquarters to be way too extravagant, and even Saddleback Church was way too big for me.
