I suppose the writer of the Village Voice article didn't understand either.

>> Sorry but you don't understand the sub prime problem.

You certainly do not or you would acknowledge that this ENTIRE problem was created by none other than Bill Clinton. While it is true that Carter got the legislation enacted that ultimately became the problem, it was Clinton's '96 dictate that the regulations be changed which assured the problem would eventually result in a collapse.

In addition, Clinton was responsible (via Robt. Rubin and other administration officials) that stopped Brookley Born from controlling the unregulated trading in derivatives.

These two facts but responsibility for the subprime crisis squarely on Clinton -- first in making the loans happen by forcing lenders to make the loans, and secondly by allowing the trading in derivatives to occur, even when fraud is involved.

Keep in mind Robt. Rubin's attempt to get the Bush Admin to "intervene" in the Enron case (which would have been blatantly illegal). Bush flatly told Rubin and Citibank to f*ck themselves, and you liberal idiots dumped all the blame on Bush.

Really, I can't see how you think ANY leftwing nutjob has standing to comment on the subject.
