Party trumps politics. I'd go with the conservative. If you vote in a progressive, that person becomes part of THAT party machine.

The government should stay out of people's lives. They shouldn't be telling anyone who or whether they can marry; whether they choose to get laid by who or whatever; and/or what they should or should not do as a consequence of their choices. Progressives are a cacophony of nitwits who want other people to do their thinking and be responsible for taking care of them - cradle to grave. They want freebies and entitlements. Conservatives are individuals who want to be in control of and responsible for their own lives, work for a living, keep what they earn rather than give it to some robot with a policy sheet telling them how to spend a taxpayer's money - or how to spread the wealth around. Hmmmm. Freebies, Entitlements? Hmmmm. Freedom, my own money?
