"4. If the AMAT CC call is positive, it will probably be OK to buy at the next morning prices. I am sure there will be a very active discussion of the CC and you will receive more immediate opinions then. The key to the CC is sales and orders for the next 12 months. These must be forecasted to exceed $5B and should reach about $5.6B."

Cary,

So depending on positive, specific management guidance in the conference call, you will suggest an entry point the next a.m.?
And you will do this the evening of the 20th?

TIA

Here's hoping we have good things to think about the evening of the 20th.

Gene

To the Gurus (Cary, Lonestar, Kumar, Tito, Dave, Teri, Brian, etc.): I am a long-term investor and have a simple question: How does any rival of AMAT stand to compete near or long-term against a company that spends $480 million per year in R & D alone when the closest rival's total revenues per year is about $460 million. Is it because AMAT is trying to grab the whole enchilada and the others focus on specific subsets of the semi-equipment area?
