calafert: I think that the way down might be more subdued, but eventually, I think we will not only retest 7000 but breach it. The bears are still timid and not shorting heavily into these bounce back (like late Friday). From the bearish stand, however, it is important that the resistance at about 7800 not be pierced through.

I am watching the action in INTC and if this stock breaks through about 82, the market could easily attempt a run all the 7800 next week. I do not see any reason why it should, but Friday's INTC action is somewhat puzzling. Maybe market participants (that have to be in stock) are doing the "move to quality" on this one.

My scenario is, however still calling for a very bad Monmday, earlier this week, I thought Monday would be a massacre, now I no longer see clearly even a halt in trading (350 down), but it is still a 50% possibility if the Nikkei continues its march to new yearly lows.
