What a gracious post! You made my morning. >>the expense or time spent doing the checks. Yeah. The old "unfunded mandate". Moral of the story (imho): it's cheaper to campaign for gun restriction legislation than it is to run elementary background checks on gun buyers. Oy gevalt. About that AR-15: there's a company called DPMS (my wife gets a quick giggle out of that one: mental vignette of moody ladies with M16s) which sells a nifty little bag thing that attaches to your AR-pattern rifle and catches the ejected cases. A real boon to us handloader types who come to the range with 80 rounds and want to go home with the same 80 cases (which are the expensive and reusable part of a cartridge). Sorta an Assault Diaper. Gotta get one for Christmas.
