Esteban,

The reason that strategy is attractive to me is that it has become harder for me to bet the S&P in the last year and I've worked hard at it. It seemed easier to me in the preceding two years, maybe because I had less money in my portfolio. Using SPY' s for at least part of the portfolio will make life easier for me. ALso, I will then be comfortable holding fewer stocks in the discretionary part of my portfolio and can concentrate on the ones I really know alot about, probably holding only 5 or 6 stocks, rather than the twenty or so I had been holding prior to my recent selling spree.
