They are trying to integrate everything into the CPU, just like Cyrix's MediaGX. The idea sound but it is no easy task, you can do it on a simply HPC or a $599 home PC but on a high power desktop, it will be very difficult. Especially CPU, video, modem, NIC has different ULC (useful life cycle). Just a question, will you buy a TV, VCR, CD all built into one box? Not many people like me but I upgrade my PC from time to time, 2 months ago I got a Zoom k56 modem (sorry not a USR) and now I am looking for a new ATI Rage Pro to replace my existing Rage II because I want to see how my monitor will look like in 1600x1280 @75hz also Rage Pro has better PC2TV and much improve 3D redering engin. BTW my Rage II is only 10 monmths old.

> But they also talk about 4 port Eethernet cards. How will COMS be squeezed by INTL in the long run.

Intel is talking about a 4 ports hub. Nothing new but Intel always a major player in fast ethernet.

No idea about LSI and CSCO deal. I bought COMS for long term investment but unfortunately I buy a bit early :o(

Is CSCO major buyer of LSI chips? YES....

In past CSCO was developing few ASICs with LSI after few
years of development CSCO cancled some of the development.
(e.g. Router on a Chip code name ROUCH ??)

COMS does more work with VLSI.
