it's by no means a lock, pho -- but this is a pattern that has often resulted in serious down the following session. A selloff on bad news that recovers in the same day -- like a "v". Again, not a lock -- but it has often happened before serious down takes place ...

an uber bullish day would be if we ignored just plain awful data and went to new highs anyway.

I am not sure I have any explanation for the pattern -- just saying I've seen it before ...
