i believe that we would have been better off if we had remained with the articles of confederation. all the states could have been sovereign. that way, when the kenyan kid hijacked chicago and illinois, his disastrous effects would have been localized to great degree. then after he destroyed their economy, he would have been exposed for the rest of the states to see. over all it would have been much easier to stay with free markets if the states would have stayed fully sovereign. each state's economy would have shown how free markets work best to build a strong economy over time. the foolish states that flirted with socialism would be shown to have weak economies and would quickly reverse course back to personal and property rights, freedom and free markets.

each state would have the others to compare itself with and come up with better economic models. freedom and free markets need to be protected. the better they are protected, the stronger the economy will become. and the stronger the economy becomes, the higher the standard of living becomes for everyone.

i believe it was peter schiff that said that the goal of the free market is to eliminate jobs. that's because a free market will try to keep labor costs to a bare minimum so the least expensive product can be made and sold.

but as jobs are eliminated due to efficiency, then labor becomes more valuable. so people have to work less and less hours to make a living. as efficiency increases and the workload decreases, wages go up. a forty hour work week would become a 30 and then a 20 and so on, until conceivably in the far future it would be down to an hour a week, then an hour a month and so on.

i believe that there would always be a need for human labor, but as you know, some people have predicted that human labor will go away entirely. i don't believe that that will ever be the case though.

and many people would opt to work a lot of hours just to save up a lot of money. maybe with a few short years of 40 work weeks you could save enough to buy a mega yacht.

of course all that would be in the far future. but it would be a good goal to begin working towards. we just need honest money, personal and property rights, free markets and freedom.

of course right now under the socialists, we're going backwards..
