Roberts, 50, of Eau Claire, formally of Colfax, died Thursday Aug. 5, 2010, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. Jeff was born April 11, 1960, in Milwaukee to David and Gail (Hammer) Roberts. He graduated from Augusta High School and served his country in the U.S. Navy. On Nov. 3, 1979, he married Kristy Hoyland at Colfax Lutheran Church in Colfax. Jeff was the co-owner of Svee Metal Works in Eau Claire and a member of the Sheet Metal Contractors Association. Jeff had a gift for making friends and telling stories, whether it was on the golf course or riding horseback, four-wheeling or bowling, people were drawn to Jeff. He especially loved heading up north to visit friends in Port Wing or Chetek; his favorite place was Lake Superior where he and Kristy spent a lot of time. He often commented that he “Was Drawn Up North.” He and Kristy were also wonderful singers; they were know for many years as the “Wedding Singers.” Survivors include: his wife, Kristy; two daughters, Amanda (Eli) Prince and Jennifer (Michael) Jenson Jr.; his father, David (Gladys) Roberts; and stepfather Ole Svee; three brothers, Jay (Brenna) Roberts, Jon Roberts and Dan (Arica) Svee; one sister, Anne (Scott) Pentilla; grandchildren, Isaiah, Ephraim, Ian and Aidan Prince, and Michael III and Kylee Jenson; many nieces, nephews, and extended family in Port Wing and Chetek. He was preceded in death by: his mother, Gail Svee; grandparents, Earl and Lila Hammer and Charles and Louise Roberts; and dear friend, Donald Kenda. Memorial services for Jeffrey Roberts will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at Colfax Lutheran Church; Pastor Les Walck will officiate with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 9 at the Sampson Funeral Home in Colfax and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
