Because Peak Oil is a contrivance, its architects will function to the self interest built into the contrivance. Prove that it is a contrivance. Peak oil is a socialist/oligarchic agenda for further public extortion, not surprisingly, it is hand n glove with global warming, as two sides of the same coin. Oh come on. it's ok to not agree with it, but just because you don't agree with something doesn't make it a contrivance. Anybody who is mining will estimate the amount of "stuff" that they are mining. Put all of those estimates together and you have an estimate of the total reserves. They do the same thing with coal, they do the same thing with gold, they do the same thing with iron ore, they do the same thing with all mineable resources. Peak oil is a myth, its foundations are a lie, based on the idea that oil and fossils are related, they are not, and never were..correlation and causality extrapolated by compartmentalists enabled the misinformation about oils origins to be extrapolated onto populations by education and repetition....in other times this was sanctioned as sophistry Prove it. Better yet, who gives a damn if oil is fossil related. All that matters is if oil reserves are replenishing themselves in a timescale that is meaningful to our existence. Next you'll be telling me that coal isn't related to fossils. Because this foundational lie is what it is, the amount of oil which can be recovered at depth remains unknowable. You have not proven that there is a "lie". You haven't even provided any evidence that it is a lie. Your position sounds more like religion to me. However, it is true that we don't know how much oil is at depths greater than we are able explore...because, we don't have the ability to explore to those depths. And if we don't have the ability to explore at great depths, who do you suppose we are going to recover those mythical reserves. You've basically taken a theory and turned it into "fact" without a shred of evidence.
