The P 38 can opener came with C-rations, several in each case as I recall. Everything in those C-rats came in cans except a sundry pack. Others have pointed out it was often worn on one of the dog tag chains. I did that too but only in training. In combat we taped or took off everything that rattled.

I have no recollection of eating K-rations, I do remember hearing about them.
