I guess you're right. I blame my generation for many of the ills of our society today. I didn't agree with it then and I don't now.

I was a decade earlier and never had an intention of being a teacher. I know I'd make a terrible one, and I couldn't function in the system that exists today anyhow.

The best teacher I ever had was a calculus instructor at, of all places, a community college. There were only about 10 people in the class so it was like having a personal tutor. I'm not sure how he did it but everyone learned calculus inside and out because we hated to disappoint him. We all agreed that it was important to us to please him by learning his material. I think everyone got an A in the course but only because we all aced all the tests. And they weren't easy tests either.

Never experienced that before or afterward.

I have used the concepts I learned there quit a bit during my career.
