' what country was FDR President of' the kid said what BS who would know this.

I've got one to beat that. My wife was explaining to a guy at her job at the college that he needed to register at 18 for the Selective Service in order to enroll at the college. My wife's coworker, a 20 year old girl, did not know what the draft was. Let me repeat that - she did not know what the words "the draft" referred to. Total blank.

Made you shake your head, didn't I?

one of the ten questions on this years final on his 400 lvl history course. which was a multiple choice.,was 'which newspaper is called the 'newspaper of record'

the choices were

Mother Jones
The New York Times
The Village Voice
Pravada

Since there is no "none of the above", I'd say the Village Voice comes closest...

My FIL is dyslexic. My MIL wrote all his papers in college. Still he went on to become a successful railroad executive. And now that he's retired he devours books.

Amazing! If parents actually knew what their redonculous tuition money paid for they'd puke non-stop for a week.
