Yeah, he's probably dead.

They supposedly know how many people died, but they claim they do not know if Ted Stevens was among those who survived. Suuuuuure they don't.

All that means is that they want to officially notify his family first, because of his status. Otherwise, they would be announcing that he survived, if he were alive.

Reports are four survivors out of 9 on the plane. No one knows yet who the survivors are.
