I won't get social security. We don't pay in, and we don't get any out. Even if my husband, who has paid in a ton, were to die before he could take any, I would not be allowed any of his benefits- so I would be treated differently from other widows. But I'm cool with that. Of course I don't need the benefits. There are other people who have been shafted by this. I'm very pleased not to be one of those people. There is a large movement in California to change the law- can't say I think this is the right time to try to keep that up, but whatever.
