Apparently for some folks who hold marriage in high esteem, they are. I like marriage. I find it a useful and sensible thing to do- so I can't be as cavalier about the dispensing of mates. I think if you break it you bought it. And even if you didn't break it, if you said "I do", you bought it. And you might as well make the best of it. Because most of the time these serial monogamists don't do any better the second, third, fourth and fifth times around. I think it would be better if we had tougher divorce laws, and people were encouraged to try to fix what they have. I think this is terribly important for our children- since they need both fathers, and a father's income. I'm not thrilled about seeing what divorce does to women and children.

And I celebrate my 29th anniversary this Sept 1st. Married a great guy when I was 20 and have never regretted my choice, and have never seen him as disposable.
