Several different CPUs, all with different strengths and weaknesses, unstable boards that wouldn't run with all the different CPUs and a bigger mess in the Socket 7 CPU market waiting on the horizon already with all the proprietary '3D' enhancements. I have to say that I can understand people going for a Pentium II system as long as they can afford it. It offers best performance and least chaos. I think I'll write an editorial about this and don't kill me if Intel will look pretty good in it. I can only say that my own system is a Pentium II 300 system and this for a good reason. " Paul
