I don't know why you got stopped and where in Texas you got stopped. But where I git stopped is on a highway just 500 yards from the Rio Grande and I git stopped for nothing. I was driving a Avis rental car at 40 mph on the highway. Two Border patrol guys in their cruiser, one on each side of my car showed up, flashed their bright lights on my face, ten used their microphone to yell out and order me to stop. I pulled over, asked them what law did I break. They actually told me that they wanted to make sure I was not crossing the border illegally (probably wanted to see if my back was wet). I wanted to tell them that I pay my taxes which probably goes to someone in their family on welfare.

Even after I showed them my license, they opened the trunk of my car (violation of my 4th amendment rights). Luckily for them, they decided to let me go. America is not a police state and let it be that way. At least that is what the world knows of the US based on VOA propaganda.
