Just read an intersting Barrons (11/8 issue) discussion regarding China's currency (yaun) situation. The article speculates what could occur to their yaun as a result of all the recent Asian woes. Anyway, I wonder when we'll really know what effects (if any ?) will this have for CUBE's bottem line 4th and 1st qtr earnings. Are CUBE's Chinese Vcd sales somehow tied to financial woes in other lands ? If so how ?

I checked out Skystreams site, which has very litle info, but they do have job postings there. These are the current postings. Employment Opportunities at SkyStream Corporation SkyStream Corporation designs and manufactures networking equipment for the digital video broadcast industry. We are looking for Windows NT system software and networking software developers. ÿ 1) Position: Software Engineer Description: This individual will be responsible for developing Windows NT based networking software for SkyStream digital video networking equipment. Requirements: BSCS or equivalent with 7+ years experience in system programming, networking, and data communications. Ideal Candidate: Is an experienced system programmer with experience developing network device drivers and protocol stacks. This person is experienced in Windows NT internals development using C/C++ and Windows NT SDK. Also is experienced with a good working knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, MPEG2 transport, and ATM networking protocols. ÿ 2) Position: Software Engineer Description: This person will be responsible for developing network management and access control interfaces for SkyStream digital video networking systems. Requirements: BSCS or equivalent with 7+ years experience in system and applications programming. Must have computer networking / data communications experience. Ideal Candidate: Is an experienced Windows / Windows NT system and application programmer. Experienced in C/C++, Windows / Windows NT SDK. Also has experience and a good working knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, RPC, and SNMP. Experience or familiarity with MPEG2 digital broadcast systems is very desirable. ÿ 3) Position: Software Engineer Description: This person will be responsible for developing embedded I/O control software, hardware drivers, system diagnostic, and self-test code for SkyStream digital video networking systems. Requirements: BSCS or equivalent with 5+ years experience in embedded system programming, hardware device drivers, and diagnostics. Ideal Candidate: Is an experienced high-performance embedded system programmer with Windows / Windows NT internals development experience. Has device driver and diagnostic experience on networking / data communications products. ÿ 4) Position: Quality Assurance Engineer Description: This person will be responsible for thoroughly testing, manipulating and adding feature enhancements to the code for SkyStream digital video networking systems. Requirements: BSCS or equivalent with 2+ years relevant experience in software testing and development. Must have computer networking / data communications experience. Ideal Candidate: Is an experienced Windows / Windows NT system and application programmer / tester. Experienced in C/C++, Windows / Windows NT and has diagnostic experience on networking / data communications products. Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must. Database management and bug tracking are some of the responsibilities the ideal candidate has recent relevant experience in. I guess that they could be a future systems competitor to Divi, but also a potential customer for CUBE. Also shows the increasing importance of digital video skills in todays market place.
