Barney Frank likes to say that "government" is just the name for "the things we choose to do together." That pleasant description somehow doesn't ring true here.

The government isn't perfect. It's a bunch of (in general) well meaning people, just like private companies. People make mistakes; see Oil/Gulf of Mexico.

I make dozens of decisions a day. Probably make errors 10% of the time. The 90% right decisions more than make up for the 10% bad decisions. Nice not to have the press looking over my shoulder and critiquing my every move, like they do with government.
