I think his wife is making him sleep on the couch again. And he seems to be working real hard to get back to sleeping in his bed. Wasn't he the one who vetoed the "same-sex marriage" bill? Or is he laying the groundwork to challenge Feinstein? Or maybe working for Jerry Brown's campaign. Hard to tell.
