This is why gold is an easy buy no matter what happens... if the markets go down, then people who lost their taste for risk will buy gold and gold will go higher... if the market goes up, it means the dollar is weaker, then gold will go higher... I'm not a gold bug at all, just a trader, but gold seems to be the simplest trade on the board, aside from being short the stock market...

Heck just take those IOUs to the store and use them. Heck, that's all Federal Reserve Notes are...an IOU backed by whatever paper crap they have listed on the assets part of the Federal Reserve's balance sheet.
