You're most welcome, although the clarification is my own...I found it more than amazing to go to the National Archives online and see the actual documents, with their dates, and pictures. Most anyone who wants to can put together the dates, the times, the communication sources, and find out for themselves what the situation was...but we know today it is not politically correct to tell the honest truth....

I did find this about the Lincoln Memorial....Looks like our Park Department has just made up it's own "man made rule" for the day....The Lincoln Memorial is FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

In a May Day celebration in 1922, Commission president William H. Taft dedicated the Memorial and presented it to President Warren G. Harding, who accepted it for the American people.[3]

Also, in PDF format, Harding's acceptance speech of the Lincoln Memorial for the American People….I found the speech most interesting to read, as it was made 57 years after Lincoln was killed, and has some of what the American people both knew and thought about Lincoln.
