This country didn't grow into the most wealthy and successful society on earth with the sort of asshole bureaucrats who bust little girl's lemonade stands, regulating and meddling in every aspect of the economy. Sure it did. Since the industrial revolution we've had tons of regulation. As an agrarian economy we didn't need as much, but we've always had a lot more than most countries. Federal, State, County, City. All with their own regulation. Get over yourself. As to "asshole bureaucrats who bust little girl's lemonade stands" there are plenty of assholes working in the private sector in case you haven't noticed. Probably far more per capita than in the public sector.

When Edison invented the light bulb, there was no government agency telling him what kind of bulb he could produce and sell. When Henry Ford and the folks behind our other early auto companies got started, there was no government agency mandating fuel standards or anything else. When Edwin Drake kicked off the oil industry, there was no EPA or DOE guiding him. Our drug industry got established without a FDA. We cleared forests, busted sod and created the middle American breadbasket without a Department of Agriculture. We produced Edisons, Fords, Jeffersons, Hamiltons, Lincolns etc without a Department of Education. And on and on and on.
