I can fully empathize with your sentiments on this issue particularly when my folks had to stand in line for me to bring them here legally. What I do not agree with is that the Republicans (reagan and Bush) had their turn in addressing this issue and they didn't. reagan even legalized them and nobody said anything. It was I calling the fraud department of the INS and reporting the illegal way immigration lawyers were bringing in folks "legally" by lying to the Govt.

However, what I do not support is that people coming to power by politicizing this issue. This is a very tough and sentimental issue. It is likely to tear many families apart and make them what I call "the living dead". And this is not what should happen. This cannot be politicized by the Republicans to catapult themselves into power. I have no issue with the Minuteman folks. They existed during Bush's time, they fought Bush's policies and they are still fighting those today. POwer be to them.

But I do not support folks like McCain and Co. who are using this issue either to retain their seat and also to come back to power.

Hope, I have succeeded in conveying where I am coming from on this issue.
