True, but we only have ourselves to blame. We consistently elect dirt bags over good people e.g. everyone knows negative campaigning works. Most of that stuff is distorted lies, so why do we fall for it?

In fact I would take it a step further and say most of the time we elect the bad guy over the good guy. Why, because the bad guy lies and the good guy tells the truth, and if we do not like the truth, which we usually do not, we vote for the person who lied to us, or used a wedge issue.

Kerry lost the election (in OHio) because the right wing used gay marriage as a wedge issue. Carville told Kerry he needed to lie about gay marriage and Kerry siad he couldn't do it.

Or take a wedge issue like pro life, or choice. No matter how good one person is many people will vote that one issuse only.

Why did the entire south change from democratic to Republican after the 1964 civil rights act?

All of the problems are our fault for not voting in good people.
