Alan, The mess we are in is the result of the collective political class. Tax cuts not matched by spending cuts are destructive. Spending not matched with funding is destructive. The situation was bad - Obama is making it worse. We can argue endlessly about how we got here. However, today is August 13, 2010. The question of the day is what do we do? The magic Obama promised not to "kick the can down the road". Many people stupidly believed his crap which was absolutely inconsistent with his past. He won office on the basis of thematic lies. The nation fell for the lies hook line and sinker. Relax - the bond market will eventually fix it. It will be ugly - but there is little we as individuals can do as much of the electorate is bought and paid for by entitlements from politicians who are bought and paid for by special interests. Can anyone imagine a candidate running on the basis of a platform of what needs to be done. We are on the Titanic - I suggest another round of drinks - as worrying about it is not going to change a thing. Bob
